We're Looking for New ALR Team Members!
ALR is looking for new team members! We're especially interested in people who want to help make the community more active, welcoming and enjoyable, with Community Coordinator and Trial Moderator applications now open.
ALR has grown quite a bit over the past few months, especially with all the work going into the website, render library and creator tools.
But one area I'd really like to improve is the community itself.
At the moment, I'm handling nearly everything on my own, and I'd love to bring in a few people who genuinely want to get involved and help ALR grow.
Community Coordinators — My Main Priority
This is the position I'm particularly looking to fill.
I'm not necessarily looking for people to moderate conversations or enforce rules. What I'd really like is some help making the Discord a more active and enjoyable place for everyone.
That could mean:
- Welcoming new members and helping them find their way around.
- Starting conversations and encouraging people to get involved.
- Getting members to share their renders, designs and other creative work.
- Helping organise competitions, polls, events and smaller community activities.
- Sharing useful resources and highlighting members' creations.
- Suggesting improvements and helping identify things that aren't working.
You wouldn't have moderation authority in this position. It's much more about being involved, bringing ideas to the table and helping build a community people want to be part of.
You don't need previous staff experience either. A genuine interest in ALR, some creativity and a willingness to get involved are far more important to me.
Trial Moderators
I'm also accepting applications for Trial Moderators.
This is a more traditional staff position, focused on helping members, answering questions, handling basic support tickets and keeping the community running smoothly.
Trial Moderators can help with minor rule violations, spam and other disruptions, while more serious situations are escalated.
It's a position for people who can stay calm, use good judgement and treat everyone fairly.
You'll start with limited permissions while learning how things work, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time.
What I'm Looking For
I'm not expecting anyone to spend every day in the server or dedicate hours of their life to ALR.
These are voluntary, unpaid positions, and I completely understand that everyone has work, education and other commitments.
What matters most is being reliable, approachable and genuinely interested in helping.
There are a few requirements:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You'll need an ALR account and a Discord account.
- You should have a reasonable understanding of the community and its rules.
- You must be able to keep staff discussions, reports and tickets confidential.
- You should be willing to enable two-factor authentication.
There's no fixed weekly hour requirement. I'd much rather have someone who contributes regularly when they're available than someone who promises more than they can realistically manage.
Interested in Joining?
Applications are now open through the ALR website.
Apply to Join the ALR Team (opens in a new tab)
You'll be able to choose which position interests you, tell me a little about yourself and explain how you'd like to contribute.
I'll be reviewing applications personally, and there's no guarantee of acceptance.
I'm hoping to build a small, dependable team of people who enjoy being part of ALR and want to help make it better.
Thanks to everyone who's continued supporting the project. I'd love to see some familiar faces getting involved! 🧡
